Teemu J. Lehtonen gave a lecture about business core competence and strategic capabilities at the Venture Cup on 24.01.2007.
The theme of the seminar day was the organisation of business activity.
What is the Venture Cup?
The Venture Cup is an open, three-phase business activity planning competition, aimed at encouraging new growth companies
to be founded in Finland. This is the the sixth time the competition is being held.
The competition is organised in association with universities, polytechnic schools, technology centers and business incubators.
The main sponsors are the Ministry of Trade and Industry, TEKES and McKinsey&Company.

The inauguration of the new premises got off to a swinging start as the chairman of the board Kyösti Laine (drums) together with Patrick Furu, a member of the board (contrabass and vocals) were responsible for the excellent music at the event. The new office, designed by the architect Steen Kallis received a lot of positive feedback from the guests as did the art graphics by Kristina Lehtonen which decorate the premises.
The day’s mood was cheerful and warm and for that we would like to thank all of our guests.

Dun & Bradstreet has awarded IC Insight with the highest AAA credit rating
In accordance with the AAA credit rating IC Insight’s solvency is very high. Only 3.46 % of Finnish companies belong to the AAA class.
The D&B rating consists of four main criteria:
- activity
- background
- finances
- way of payment
Analysing these criteria separately and weighting them with each other results in a final credit evaluation i.e. an evaluation of the company’s ability to cope with the commitments related to business.
The AAA rating informs especially our new clients and partners of our sound financial position thus increasing trust.
Dun & Bradstreet is a world leader in producing credit reports, marketing information as well as acquisitions information management.
Raute Precision, a supplier of weighing and dosing solutions and systems began the strategic development of competence together with IC Insight in March 2006. The HUPO-index, which defines the state of the working community and its productivity, was measured during the spring and was found to be higher than expected.
Raute Precision’s new president as of 1.12.2006, Jarmo Ukonaho had already previously found the HUPO index to be a useful management tool from his days at UPM Kymmene’s former subsidiary company Loparex Oy. Ukonaho considers that Raute Precision’s surprisingly positive result in the HUPO index is due to high personnel internal mobility as well as a high level of personnel vocational training, which generally motivates personnel.
HUPO Index stands out because of the ease of its use. The results are obtained quickly and reporting can be carried out internally by the company management. HUPO is also more cost-effective than some broader surveys where it is not possible to handle the reporting yourself, compares Ukonaho.
Raute Precision’s development director Rauno Ihatsu found HUPO Index to be effortless and time effective thanks to its well outlined survey that could be filled online. The high 89 % percent response rate as well as the eagerness to hear the report’s results reflect the personnel’s positive outlook on the HUPO report.
